Unveiling emergent landscapes in science and on canvas.

Full Professor at the Department of Physics, University of Aveiro, Director of the Associated Laboratory i3N-Aveiro and External Faculty at the Complexity Science Hub in Vienna . Working at the intersection of statistical physics, complex systems, and network science to address fundamental challenges in interconnected physical, technological, and natural structures.

Beyond scientific research, I am deeply engaged in fine arts (Art), primarily focusing on oil and pastel painting. My visual work explores the beauty, balance, and emergent complexity that bridge physical principles with aesthetic expression.
